dave_m Posted April 12, 2006 Report Posted April 12, 2006 Car is back from having clutch, Concentric Slave and Dual Mass flywheel done. Just come back from milton Keynes and Engine keeps going into limp home mode. (it done this once before the clutch was done so i don't think it is a related problem. No accelleration at all Rev counter just sits above idle. Hooked up VAG Com and was given the following 1 Fault Found: 18047- Acelerator Position Sensor 1/2 (G79/G185): Implausible Signal P1639- 35-00 intermittent. I assume this is the sensor on the pedal itself??? any ideas on how much a replacement is or has anyone had any experience of a similar problem?? This car is costing me an absolute fortune......... Masked Marauder Posted April 13, 2006 Report Posted April 13, 2006 Yes it is a complete pedal assembly. Someone on here got one a few months back. Quote

Guest neil_wiles Posted April 13, 2006 Report Posted April 13, 2006 If this has become a problem since the clutch was changed it may be pertanent to check the plug on the pedal sensor itself, if it is not fully clipped in or maybe the contacts are dirty this may account for the increased problem. This is all disturbed and possibly removed during the bleeding and replacement of the clutch pedal if they have had to carry out this whilst working on the clutch assembly. Quote
johnb80 Posted April 13, 2006 Report Posted April 13, 2006 If you can get to the potentiometer a quick squirt of switch cleaner or WD40 may result in an operating device again. Replacement is the only real fix but the above would certainly buy you more time. Regards - John Quote
dave_m Posted April 13, 2006 Author Report Posted April 13, 2006 thanks for the replies guys, I don't think the clutch replacement has anything to do with it as it did do it once or twice before the clutch was replaced, I have checked the multi plug and when unlugged, car shows the same symptoms and the same DTC is logged by the PCM. I think i will buy a new one as it is quite dodgy pulling out at a roundabout and then for the revs to drop, had a few hairy moments getting it home last night :o will let you all know how it goes :o regards, Dave Quote
